2008 Meeting Schedule:

DOORS OPEN AT 6:00 PM

Monday, May 12, 2008

ESCTU Meeting 6:30 Featured Speaker is Steve Ferrar of the Atlantic Saltwater Flyrodders.

Steve will be our featured fly tier and presenter. Steve is a local saltwater fly fisher, fly designer, and past president of the Atlantic Saltwater Flyrodders in 2006 and 2007.  He has authored numerous articles on original fly designs and taught/demonstrated at many fly fishing shows and clubs through out the Northeast.  Steve was the saltwater fly rod guy in the Sage advertisements in 2001. He typically fishes from the beaches in the Sandy Hook area and will do a program, as you would expect, on salt water fly fishing.

In addition to Steve's presentation, Brian Cowden, the TU Home River Coordinator for the Musconetcong River Project, will come by to brief the chapter on his conservation efforts on the Musky.  I'm sure that Brian will have some great information, so please plan to join us".

ESCTU Annual Business Meeting and picnic at Bulls Island State Park.

June 7th Bulls Island State Park

ESCTU will convene for our June meeting on Saturday, June 7th, at Bulls Island State Park on Route 29 in Hunterdon County.  We will not convene at the firehouse on the second Monday in June, but instead I’ll be grilling burgers and hot dogs from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.  Feel free to come early and take advantage of the fishing opportunities that abound.

Weather permitting John Zargiel may even bring his speedy new boat along in order to get some of the chapter members out in the Big D for quality warm water fishing.  We will have a brief, annual business meeting as soon as I serve everyone a plate of food.  Rain date will be June 14th.  I’ll define rain as too wet to light the grill.

Since this is a chapter meeting, there will be no charge for anyone who is current with his/her 2008 activity fee.  Feel free to bring sons, daughters and significant others.
